There is another distinguished Paiwanese building besides the Slate Houses, which is an elevated egg-shaped barn (ubav) that every household would build in the front yard.
Purpose: Except storing food and keeping food clean, the elevated barns can prevent the grain from getting damp, as well as protect it from rats or other small animals.
